Checklist & How To Stay Organized | Wedding Bells Series

Alright ladies and gentleman, I’m back to give you the 411 on how to keep yourself organized during your wedding planning experience. By no means am I a professional wedding planner… I am here just to simply share my experience with you and some things that I did to help me stay organized.

Before I go any further, I just wanted to say that I have been ALL over the place with my wedding planning — and to be honest, I haven’t been staying on track with it. Stephen and I got engaged back in January 2016, so we had a good year and a half to plan. We thought we had all the time in the world! But at the time, we were so excited for the wedding that we instantly started planning when we got engaged. For those of you that have a minimum of a year to plan your wedding, I would suggest to try your best to stay on track with it. For me, I have been so busy  with school and work that there are times I get so caught up with my everyday life that I can never find time to plan everything the way I wish I could. Because of that, I decided to put together a small, simple list of things that have helped me get my wedding planning process. Enjoy!

Here are the top 3 things that I have done to stay organized ✅

1 – Utilize the apps on your phone

If you are like me, then you are constantly glued to your phone. In that case, let your phone keep you organized. Some things that helped me were my Notes app and my Calendar app on my iPhone. I set my calendar to notify me on certain days where I needed to make a payment, get a hold of a vendor or whatever it is. I would also use my Notes app as a “what’s next” tool. I would occasionally check it to see what I needed to get done next, whether it was scheduling an appointment or getting ahold of my photographer 😉

Other apps that helped me stay organized were some wedding apps. The ones that I used were The Knot and 2Life Wedding. They are AMAZING! They provided me with a checklist that kept me on track with what needs to be done on a monthly basis. They also give you ideas for vendors and where to find them depending on your location… which was SO convient! The Knot is actually where I created my wedding website as well, so for those of you who plan on doing that, that can be an option. A couple other apps that I have heard work just as great (that I DIDN’T use) is Wedding Wire and WeddingHappy. I’ll post a link of a few others. 2 – Buy a planner

Yes! This was a MUST for me. Since I am more of a visual person, sometimes it just helps me to write things down. A planner helped me do just that. It tends to be a little more official than having it on my phone. Since I use my planner for EVERYTHING. Maybe this can work for you as well.

3 – Trust a family member/friend

It helps! For me, that person is my MOM ❤️ She’s been through it ALL with me. She has been there through all of my tough decisions — from dress shopping to nagging at me for getting my stuff paid for. It helps to have someone who can remind you of things… Because trust me, things WILL get chaotic. She’s always honest and I trust her judgement. She is someone who has helped me without be asked to. And that’s the biggest help of all!

❤️💍❤️

I hope this information was useful to you, message me if you have any questions!

**Thanks again for reading… until next Wednesday**
