While In Paris | Our Proposal Story πŸ’

Hey friends, and welcome back to another cheesy blog post!

I can’t believe that on this day, 2 years ago, Stephen and I were walking in the streets of Paris, France and little did I know this day would change my life forever. As a courtesy of our 2 year proposal anniversay, I wanted to take some time to talk about our proposal story… (my side of the story, that is). LOL

SO, let’s get started…. πŸ˜‰

Stephen wanted our proposal to be photographed and he managed to hire a secret photographer who actually specialized in taking professional photos of proposals in Paris. Our photos were taken by the AMAZING French photographer, Bruno Cohen. We LOVED his work and I linked his website down below in case of any of you fellas would like to contact him. He definitely had amazing reviews, was easy to work with, very helpful/friendly and was definitely affordable (so Stephen says).

Proposal In Paris by Bruno Cohen

At the time, Stephen had just graduated college with his BS in Mechanical Engineering. So the summer of 2015, we planned on going to Europe for his post-grad vacation. Things happened and instead, we made it official to go January of 2016. Before we left to Europe, many people were telling me, “he’s going to propose, why else would he take you to Europe?”… but I didn’t want to believe it. I didn’t want to get my hopes up.

Paris was actually our second destination and we stayed for 3 days…

On the day of the proposal, Stephen and I were having a little argument. He woke up at 5 or 6am (he was probably nervous) and made me wake up early to get ready too. I was cranky, because we told each other that we would sleep in while on vacay. All I wanted to do was sleep. He told me that we were going to church at Notre Dame (which was down the street of our hotel) and his excuse was that we needed to dress “very nice” and get ready fast, so we could catch the breakfast they served downstairs. I was furious at how early he wanted to leave the hotel. Little did I know that Bruno was photographing it all. Which explains why Stephen would randomly kiss me and hug me… remember, I was still moody… (with the exception of the photo above).

We took some time to look at Notre Dame, before walking in. WHICH WE DIDN’T. Stephen changed his mind and wanted to walk around the church and site see instead. During all this, I was so oblivious to the fact that Bruno was ALWAYS behind us snapping photos.

When we did this, he took me to “Lover’s Lock Bridge” — where we would leave our lock that we purchased the day before. We placed our lock somewhere and stared out into the beautiful view of the Seine River. There, Stephen had the sweetest things to me. β™₯️

Everything happened so fast. One second he was telling me loved me, and the next he was down on one knee with a ring flashing back at me. At the time, I was so surprised! I didn’t see it coming. He had distracted me so well that I didn’t know this was his next move. {You were sneaky Mr. A}

All I remember seeing was him. For a second, I forgot where we were and what our surrounding was… I had tunnel vision of just him. And I remember thinking about how much I loved him, and everything he had done for me up until that point. There was nothing more I could ever want. And while that was all happening in my head, I was able cry… A LOT, and say YES!

After we kissed, hugged and cried a little more together. Our photographer introduced himself to me and told me everything. About how Stephen hired him and blah blah blah. After that, Bruno asked if I was ready for my photo shoot… {who me?! πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ} All that I could make out was like “HELL YEAH”!

What was so amazing was that Bruno was able to capture so much emotion in our photos. And those are the best ones. He honestly didn’t do too much directing, just wanted to make everything look real and he really brought out the love in these photos! β™₯οΈπŸ’ nothing but true love and happiness. All I could think about was how sneaky my man was.

Stephen and I are very blessed to have found each other at such a young age and fall in love like we did. We like to call it “innocent love”. We’ve been fortunate enough to experience so many amazing things together, that I wouldn’t change it for anything. This is by far one of the most amazing days of my life β™₯️ {second, after our wedding πŸ˜‰}. Thank you again to our photographer, Bruno Cohen, for capturing this precious moment.

I love you, Stephen. Thank you for being my afterman.
